I'm Kelsey, boudoir photographer at Rosewood Boudoir. Creating tasteful + romantic photographs that help you see your natural beauty.
Creating a boudoir inspiration board on Pinterest for your boudoir session is a great way to help your photographer get a sense of your style and learn a little more about what you like and want to see in your photos.
I’d love for you to share your Pinterest board with me before your session! You can email it to me at any time – just be sure it’s not a private board. If it is, I won’t be able to see it.
You can also just bring it to your session and we’ll look through it on your phone before we start your session!
As you’re making your board, there are a few things to be cognizant of. Let me explain.
When you find yourself drawn to certain boudoir images, think about what you like about the images. If you start to notice a pattern or theme, it’s super helpful to let me, as your boudoir photographer, know about it.
In general, we won’t be recreating images to a tee, but having a general understanding of what you’re drawn to will help me create images of you that you will be obsessed with.
As you’re looking at photos, think about what the photos are highlighting. If you want the focus to be on your face, look at images where the face is more featured. If you want to highlight the curve of your thighs, look at images where curves are prominent. Try not to choose images simply because the model is pretty, but because they show off the things you already love about your body.
As you’re pulling together your Pinterest board, see if you notice a trend with black and white vs. color photos. See if you find you prefer one of the other in general.
Personally, I love black and white photos and will always include a few black and white versions of photos in your boudoir gallery.
But if you tell me you love or even prefer black and white photos, I’ll be sure to include a lot of black and white options for you to choose from!
Do you love the mystery and simplicity of a good silhouette like these? Let me know that as well!
If you start to feel like you’re seeing the same images over and over, you probably are. Pinterest’s user guidelines can be a little strict with boudoir photos and many get removed. I consider my work very tasteful and classy, but I’ve even had a few of my pins removed before.
Don’t be afraid to look off Pinterest as well and send me screenshots of what you like outside of Pinterest. You can just Google Image search boudoir photography and have a lot of other options as well!
If you haven’t already, check out my Pinterest account! You can pin your favorites so I know which of my shots you already love and which poses I should be sure to include in your session.
EDIT: My Pinterest account got banned. Apparently even classy work can go against community guidelines.
