What to Wear
I'm Kelsey, boudoir photographer at Rosewood Boudoir. Creating tasteful + romantic photographs that help you see your natural beauty.
Does choosing your outfits for your boudoir session feel overwhelming? Are you not really much of a shopper, but you know you have to wear something?
Are there too many options and you just aren’t sure what to bring to make sure you look great with minimal effort? Do you wish someone would just tell you exactly what to wear for your boudoir session so you can be done with it?
I’ve got your back, friend!
Here’s a secret: It doesn’t really matter what you wear anyway.
It seems wild, but it’s true. Your boudoir session is about celebrating YOU, not showcasing your lingerie. Your outfits are definitely an opportunity to be creative and show a bit of your personality, but if you don’t like shopping, there’s no reason at all to over think your outfits!
I say to bring 4-6 outfits to your session, but if you bring fewer outfits, that’s perfectly fine too! The session is about you, not your lingerie!
So without further ado, here is exactly what to wear for your boudoir session. Bring these items and you’ll look amazing without having to stress!
This is a super classic and simple look and you may already have it in your closet! If you want to go for a color set, that’s fine too, but I’m going to say black to keep it looking simple and classic.
If you need support for the girls, go for a push up bra. If you don’t, you could go for a pretty lace bralette.
Don’t worry about bringing a garter belt or stockings. Your legs and torso will look much leaner and longer without them!
This is the only place I’ll tell you to be creative.
Choose a color you look amazing in. Since my studio is so neutral, a colorful bodysuit pops like nobody’s business. If you choose a color that is good on you, you’ll look like a million bucks.
Be sure you have the support you want up top and choose a cheeky or thong cut in the back. Ideally, the bodysuit should also flatter your natural waist.
If you aren’t sure which bodysuit to get, I recommend one of these from amazon. They are adjustable and look amazing on most body types!
This is one of the most classic and sexy items you can bring to your session. It’s a great way to bring some sensuality to your look.
If you can’t raid your man’s closet for one, run by Kohls or hop on Amazon to pick up a cheap one for your session. Size up a few sizes for best results!
You don’t even have to bring this one to your boudoir session. I always keep a white sheet on hand in my studio, just let me know you want to do some shots with the white sheet as one of your looks!
I don’t generally share these images, but just know that wearing nothing at all is also a very valid option! I love artistic nude photos and if that’s your vibe, let me know and we can work together to create some tasteful magic!
