I'm Kelsey, boudoir photographer at Rosewood Boudoir. Creating tasteful + romantic photographs that help you see your natural beauty.
Looking for a creative and fun idea for your next boudoir photography session? What about bringing a bouquet of flowers? I love this option for so many reasons. It’s fun, feminine, and very customizable. If you’re a bride, you could even do a bouquet of flowers that looks like your wedding bouquet!
I definitely feel like flowers are really having a moment right now and I am 100% here for it! I love the way they can add such a lovely pop of color to your photos.
Friend, you have options.
My personal favorite is to wear only a pair of blue jeans and use the flowers to strategically cover as much of your chest as you would like. This is a great way to also show off your bare back in the photos.
If you’re not quite comfortable going topless, a neutral or complimentary color bra, bralette, or even a bodysuit is also a good option! You could even do panties, a button down, and flowers.
Maybe you’re at the other end of the spectrum and you’re feeling daring. You could pose nude with with the flowers covering anything you don’t want shown.
At the end of the day it’s up to you and your comfort level!
As with anything, I have some things to keep in mind when you’re making decisions on flowers!
Think about colors that compliment YOU. What looks good on you? What colors do you get compliments when you wear them? Be sure to incorporate those colors into your bouquet.
If you’re planning to use the flowers as a top, be sure they’re full enough to provide the coverage you want for your photos. I love to pull in some filler flowers like baby’s breath to expand the coverage while keeping costs a little lower.
PRO TIP: If you don’t want your nipple area to show, consider getting some nippies.
My favorite place to shop is Flourish Flowers. I love their flower selection and I love that it shifts and changes with the seasons. They have a physical location at Cultivate Coffee in Fountain City as well as the cutest flower truck imaginable that pops up all over Knoxville. You can select a gorgeous pre-made bouquet, or you can make your own!
Flowers are a super fun and feminine addition to your boudoir session. If you’re looking for something a little different to add some personality to your shoot, a bouquet of flowers can be just the thing for you!
